1. Too Many Ads
This is one of the first traps that most would be website creators fall in to and that is putting too many ads on their website. I know that when you create a website it would be nice to earn some money from it BUT by displaying too many flashing ads is not the way to go about it.
Having excessive ads can make your website look unprofessional and cheesy. There is nothing wrong with displaying ads but you have to place them very strategically on your website.
One of the worst websites you can visit is the ones that have big Google Adsense ads everywhere and other various flashing ads.
2. Horrendous Color Schemes
This is another thing that makes a website look terrible and that is using the wrong colour schemes. When you use wrong colour schemes like a black background with red text for a sample this is very hard on the eye. If you do have an elaborate colour scheme it may look good to you but to your visitors it may not.
If you are not sure what colour schemes to use as a rule just use a white background with black text.
3. Not Having An About Page
Having an about page is very important because you can use it to build trust. Every website you create should have an about page so that people can find out more information about you and your company.
When you do not have an about page it makes your website look a little bit suspect and even shady. If you are trying to sell something on your website you will have a hard job doing this without an about page.
Also what many people do not realize is that an about page can also increase your authority and SEO in the eyes of Google because your website looks more complete and trustworthy.
4. Not Updating Your Blog Or Website Consistently
If you are serious about making money from your website or blog you have to update it regularly. When visitors come to your site they need to see fresh content so try and create a regular posting schedule.
If you have very long gaps in between posting your articles for example more than a week then your visitors will not take your site very seriously and will probably not return.

5. Crazy Pop-Ups
This can be very annoying when you are reading an article and then a pop-up appears and interrupts your reading experience. Readers come to your blog because they want to read the valuable content that you have to offer, so don’t ruin it by using any intrusive ads whatsoever.
6. Rubbish Blog Layout
Try to stay away from confusing blog layouts. Always remember it might look good to you but your visitor might disagree. Blog layouts change from niche to niche so try and pick the blog theme that fits your niche best.
