Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos plans to travel the space on a rocket ship created by his own space company, Blue Origin. The flight is scheduled for July 20th. Bezos will resign as the CEO of Amazon on July 5th.
Mark Bezos (Jeff’s Brother) will be accompanying him in this adventure.
“Ever since I was five years old, I’ve dreamed of travelling to space,” Bezos, 57, said in a Monday morning Instagram post. “On July 20th, I will take that journey with my brother. The greatest adventure, with my best friend.”
After completing this mission, Bezos will become the first ever billionaire space tycoons to visit space. Even the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, has not visited space and shared any of his plans about that.
This flight will be done via Blue Origin’s six-seater capsule and 59-foot rocket. The flight will last for 11 minutes and will reach more than 60 miles above the earth.
After six years of extensive research, the company has achieved this milestone. The price for the space ride is still unknown, but for sure, whatever the price will be, adventure-loving souls will love this journey.
In addition to New Shepard, Blue Origin is also working to develop a towering rocket called New Glenn, which the company hopes will be used to send US government and commercial satellites to orbit and potentially make trips to deep space.
